Your reading this note is highly appreciated and I do believe that you will be blessed for it. I was web surfing through Myspace.com the other day and realized something extremely baffling. The most popular blog on the entire website was a blog called “The End of Christianity”. This blog went into great length and detail to prove that the theory of Evolution was right and that the Creation was ridiculous and completely untrue! Many times we as Christians see things like this and think –‘Well I know I didn’t come from a monkey’ and then go on about our business. Meanwhile bloggers like this one continue to publish trash and inject it into the minds of our Christian brothers and sisters! Not only that, but there are people who were undecided about their faith but once they read that blog decided to be atheist. We have to arm ourselves with knowledge so that we can intelligently and scientifically refute the attacks on our religion! If we don’t stand up for God now, do you think that Jesus will stand up for us in heaven? If you already believe in the Creation then great, but please continue to read and arm yourself with knowledge so that you can pass this on to others. Why? Because James
*Deist- Believes in Creation and God, but not God’s continued involvement in the world today. Believe that God simply wound up the clock and let it run so to speak.
*Christian- Many people consider themselves Christians and since I do not aim to shatter anyone’s dreams (for now LOL!), I will only define a Christian as it pertains to the Creation VS Evolution topic. A Christian believes that there is one all powerful God who created the universe, and more specifically the Earth, as it is defined in the book of Genesis in the Bible. Believe in His continued involvement in the world today. Also worship God.
*Creationist- a person who believes in that there is a God who at some point created the universe. This person does not necessarily believe in the story of the Creation as it is told in the Bible. They also may or may not believe in worshipping this God. A Christian is a Creationist though and so is a Deist.
*Evolutionist- a person who believes in the natural evolution of all organisms including humans. They believe that humans evolved from primates. These people usually believe in the Big Bang as opposed to the Creation. More than likely they do not believe in God. An Evolutionist cannot be a Christian. I personally believe that all things change over time for the adaptation and survival of their species but I do not classify myself as an Evolutionist because of all the other connotations that go along with that classification.
LET’S GET STARTED! Please keep in mind that the theories I am advertising are not the only ones. They are simply the ones that make the most sense to me. Also remember that even the ranting of the Evolutionist are theories and not fact although they are propagated as fact. We are on an even playing field.
Part I
The first problem that Christians run into is the archeological evidence that at face value successfully refutes the Biblical timeline that puts the Earth at a few thousand years old. Scientists have for a long time stated that the Earth is billions of years old.
Scientists say that there was no six day creation as Genesis stated but a gradual evolution and formation of life most likely sparking from a methane gas bubble.
As a Christian we must know how to intelligently prove otherwise. We usually associate the word day in Genesis with the 24 hour block of time that defines our days. First we must acknowledge that the original translation of the Bible from Greek to English said YOM and not day as in “a 24 hour block of time”. A YOM is simply a period of time. It is not defined. It could be a day as we know it, or a week, or even millions of years. Your belief on this is your decision.
So your next question is, “Well what about the evening and the morning being the first day?” Allow me to propose a theory for this as well. According to Thinkquest.org,
“White hole cosmology is a little known theory devised by the 6-day creationist and physicist Dr. Russell Humphreys. In his theory Dr. Humphreys envisions the universe proceeding from a white hole. A white hole is the theoretical opposite of a black hole, that is, instead of pulling things including light into itself, a white hole pushes thing out of itself. Both white and black wholes are made up of extremely dense matter and have many times more gravity then stars; this intense gravity creates an "Event Horizon". Time is effected by gravity; the greater the gravitational force the slower time in that force will proceed in relation to time outside the gravitational force. When an object has as much gravity as a black hole or a white hole there becomes an area at which time comes to a halt this surrounding area is called an event horizon. Dr. Humphreys uses this theory to assert that the earth is indeed merely thousands of years old while the rest of the universe is billions of years old. In this theory the universe was created and began to expand outside of the event horizon of the white hole before our solar system.”
In other words, when the Earth sat on the event horizon time passed much faster in the rest of the universe than it did on Earth. At some point time may have even stopped! So while millions of years passed elsewhere, only six days passed here on Earth.
I know that this sounds a little sci-fi but the math and science behind this are enough to make White-hole cosmology a reputable theory and a possible answer to Evolutionist who say that a six day creation is impossible.
I have heard many Christians say that believing in this is ludicrous and hypocrisy but I want to argue that God can do whatever He wants in whatever manner He chooses. There is no verse that details exactly what transpired in order for the formation of the world to take place; the Bible simply states that God did it. I believe he did it and if there is science to explain how He did it then I think that will suffice until we all get to heaven and we can ask Him for ourselves!
Part II
We as humans are similar in many ways to animals. Evolutionists argue that our similarities to apes are due to a common ancestor. As a Christian there is no way to believe in this. Genesis 1:26 (NIV) says, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea, and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” God made man in “His image” not the image of an animal! Also man could not have derived from something that he was given dominion and tasked with watching over.
Genesis 2:7 (NIV) says that, “the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being.” We didn’t come from an ape! We were formed from the dust and given God’s breath of life (our soul).
The scientists say that our DNA is similar to chimp DNA. As a matter of fact it is! Depending on the report you read human and chimp DNA is 97-98% similar. But this is not definite proof of evolution. I would argue that the similarity comes not from a common ancestor but from a common designer. The book entitled The Revised & Expanded Answers Book, written by a coalition of theologists and scientists says, “If humans were entirely different from all other living things, or indeed every living thing was entirely different, would this reveal the Creator to us? No! We could logically think that there must have been many creators rather than one. The unity of the creation is testimony to the one true God who made it all. (Rom
More technically it goes on to say, “Certain biochemical capacities are common to all living things, so there is even a degree of similarity between the DNA of yeast, for example, and that of human beings. Because human cells can do many of the same things that yeast can do, we share similarities in these DNA sequences that code for enzymes and proteins that do these same jobs in both types of cells. Some of the sequences, for example those that code for the histone proteins, are almost identical.”
A huge misconception about DNA is that we know everything about it. The human DNA has over 3 billion nucleotides. Neither the human nor the chimp DNA has been fully sequenced. If the sequencing is incomplete then how can you properly compare the two to each other?
Part III
For years Evolutionists have said that in the early stages of development a human embryo goes through many evolutionary stages. The belief is called “ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny”, started in the 1860s by German evolutionist Ernst Haeckel. Haeckel stated that during an embryos development it retraces its evolutionary history. A human would go through a fish stage, an amphibian stage, a reptilian stage, and so on until birth. He stated that early embryos even had gills and later had tails. The theory says that all organisms go through the same stages and this proves that all organisms stem from the same ancestors. It says that organisms were the same to a certain time and then branched off due to evolution.
Please do not be deceived. Although this is widely taught even in 2008 (I’ve been taught this) the study was completely fraudulent. Months after the publication of Haeckel’s work a professor of zoology and comparative anatomy at the
Part IV
Evolutionist use the argument of vestigial, or useless organs prove evolution. First of all let me say that no one can prove an organ is vestigial because the function of said organ may simply be unknown. The use may be found later. This was the case for both the appendix and the spleen as well. Also, if an organ was truly vestigial then this proves devolution, not evolution! Many scientists claim that humans evolved from chimps and that we evolved and lost our tail. For an organism to lose something that is advantageous to it implies devolution and not evolution!
Part V
Lastly, there have been numerous claims by evolutionists that they have found proof of our evolutionary ancestors. This is another lie that has been advertised as positive fact. The Neanderthal man is widely hailed as the ape-man. Many scientists said that this was proved by the stooped posture of the remains found. However later this was proved to be a false implication. This stooping was due to diseases such as rickets. These were humans and humans only nothing more and certainly not anything less. Many other remains that have been found and were assumed a form of primitive man have been identified now as either falsified reports or in many cases mistaking a primate skull for an early human skull. In one case a scientist put together a human skull cap and an orangutan jaw together and claimed it to be the ape-man Eoanthropus. Later it was found to be fraudulent.
Conclusion
My main point for this note is to tell you some real information to battle with what the world is telling you. I believe that God takes care of his Creation by equipping it with tools to survive in its surroundings. So yes I believe that can change but only as it is needed for its survival and I believe even that is constituted by God. Christians we must learn to intelligently argue against evolutionist and not get sucked in to what they are saying. In order to bring more people to Christ we have to provide answers to the same questions that the world has to provide answers to. The “because Jesus said so” answer is no longer enough in today’s society. Let’s get educated so that we can stand firm on the battlefield (or in the laboratory) of the Lord!
